Metal-Plast Certified Again by RecyClass – A Pioneer in PVC Recycling with Module D
Metal-Plast, a leader in plastic recycling, has once again confirmed the highest quality of its recovery processes by obtaining the RecyClass Recycling Process Certificate. Moreover, as one of only three companies in the world and the only one in Poland, the company meets the strict requirements of the Module D PVC Requirements, making it one of the pioneers in rigid PVC recycling in compliance with EU standards.
RecyClass Certificate – Proof of Transparency and Quality
RecyClass is a well-recognized certification system in Europe that verifies recycling processes for compliance with circular economy principles. The certificate confirms not only the quality of the technology used but also transparency, traceability, and regulatory compliance concerning recycled materials. This is not the first time Metal-Plast has successfully passed the audit, but this time the achievement goes even further.
Module D – Elite Compliance with EU Standards
Module D is a new, advanced level of RecyClass certification focused on the recycling of rigid PVC containing lead. Introduced in response to Regulation (EU) 2023/923, Module D includes, among other things, a controlled loop system, requiring traceability of waste sources, segregation, and limitations on the reuse of recyclate to specific product categories. To comply with Module D, a company must demonstrate the ability to precisely identify the lead content in each input stream and apply dedicated procedures to materials exceeding the 0.1% threshold. Furthermore, recyclate from such sources can only be used in products within the same category, requiring an advanced quality management system and full material flow documentation.
Module D is a practical response to the REACH regulation, which governs the use of chemicals in the EU market and imposes strict restrictions on hazardous substances – such as lead in plastics. Metal-Plast, as one of three companies globally and the only one in Poland, has met all the criteria of this module, confirming its readiness to operate under the EU’s most stringent environmental regulations.
A Responsible Leader
“For us, recycling is not just about technology – it’s about responsibility: for the environment and our business partners. Module D is a challenge we embraced with full awareness, knowing that the future of the PVC market lies with companies that operate transparently and follow sustainable development principles,”– says Grzegorz Jasiński, CEO of Metal-Plast.
What Does This Mean for the Market?
Thanks to Module D certification, Metal-Plast can offer PVC recyclate that complies with current and upcoming EU regulations. For manufacturers using secondary raw materials, this means access to stable volumes of legal, high-quality, and fully traceable material ready for use in production processes – without the risk of regulatory violations.
